Blog Ressurection

It's Alive! I figured it's probably time to revive the blog, since I've been away for a while. Life gets busy you know...

And finally moved out of Utah. :)

Woot!

And as the holidays are closing in, I've been getting a bit more crafty, and I thought I would share.

I've found a new hobby! One I can do without the need of a babysitter! Though I do still work on furniture (that's for another post).

Cross-Stitchery!

The rules are simple. First, you find a cute pattern, design, or kit. Second, add your own combination of innapropriate phrases. Third, you sit back and revel in your wittiness. Fourth, make another!

For Tobin

I got these next three from Subversive Cross Stitch.

For my friend Kim

For my friend Cliff

For my friends Erica and Jesse

Then I got all fancy, bought some software and started deigning my own!

Another for my friend Kim

And I'm currently working on a wedding gift for my friends Pete and Merci, but I can't post it yet. It'll ruin the surprise!! Ok, ok, here's a sneak peek!

My First Build!

Remember how I said that I wanted to make time to garden, write, and build furniture for Amelia? Well, I haven't found (made) time to write, but I did... eventually... complete my first furniture project. Two projects actually, from Ana White's website (formally known as Knock-Off Wood).

The $4 Stackable Chairs were more difficult than I expected, mostly due to the poor quality of the furring strips I was using. But I think I put enough screws in them. :)

P.S. I apologize for using a camera phone to take these pictures, but when your only option is to work during nap-times, you use the fastest option.

Happy Wintereenmas!

Halloween has come and gone, and I ate more than my share of candy corn yet again. I don't care what day it is, 600 calories of candy corn for lunch is never a good idea. Although the sugar rush allowed me to carve 3 pumpkins in record time before the little heathens came a knockin'.

Here's a better shot of them in the dark.
